The Regional Resource Recovery Centre

What is RRRC?

The Regional Resource Recovery Centre (RRRC) is central to the SMRC’s Regional Waste Management Strategy.

The $100,000,000 facility known as the RRRC is based at Canning Vale and is the largest waste processing facility in Australia. The RRRC is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art processing facility; owned and operated by the SMRC.

The RRRC facilities and processes

The RRRC is home to three separate facilities for organic waste processing, the sorting and recovery of recyclable materials and green waste mulching: Each of the facilities has been designed with additional capacity to allow for regional population growth over the next 20 years.

The yellow-topped bin is a commingled bin for all dry recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and aluminium.

In addition, the SMRC also provides residents with a disposal service for green waste. Once collected all household wates is taken to the RRRC for recovery and processing.
